Haytox

“Haytox” descibes a spray treatment to reduce the symptoms of hayfever, popular in Australia and now in the UK too. Botulinum toxin A is delivered into the nasal passage as an aerosol through a disposable intranasal atomiser device, providing a needle free, steroid free, tablet free solution to pollen allergies.

It works by blocking the nerve signals in the nasal passage which trigger the onset of hay-fever symptoms. Botulinum toxin functions by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for activating muscles and certain glands. When applied to the nasal mucosa, it may reduce the activity of glands producing mucus and decrease nasal congestion by limiting the contraction of smooth muscles in the nasal passages. 

Experience the effects after 3 weeks with the results lasting about 8-12 weeks.

For those with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) a single treatment at the beginning of the hay fever season may suffice. However, those who suffer with perennial (year-round) symptoms might benefit from treatments every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on symptom recurrence and severity. ​Individual response varies and some people with a severe case may require another treatment after 4 weeks if symptoms persist.
